The idea for goody came about while I was leaving a party a friend had brought me to at the fanciest new building in town.

The apartment, lobby everything was stunning and it felt like a place where James Bond would be playing a back-room poker game.

As I was leaving, I started laughing because even in the nicest apartment building I’d ever set foot in, there was still a hallway with a hideous vending machine, projecting doctor’s-office-fluorescent lighting, potato chip bag hanging on a metal coil and all.

I was already obsessed with the vending machines I had seen while visiting Japan. So I decided with a little aesthetic improvement plus my obsessions for curated food products & operational efficiency, I could provide a much better product than what was currently available. And so goody was born.
